OCD Therapy

Helping adults in Nashville and Brentwood break free from patterns of unwanted thoughts and fears and achieve a sense of calm

Are you tired of overthinking?

You may have arrived here if you…

  • Have uncontrollable, recurring thoughts or fears (obsessions) around unlikely or “illogical” scenarios.

  • Practice certain behaviors (compulsions) in order to temporarily alleviate anxiety.

  • Find yourself getting “stuck” in a repetitive loop of playing out worst-case scenario fears

  • Have difficulty concentrating or staying on task because of any of the above.

  • Feel unsure about what to do next, but are certain you don’t want to feel this way anymore.

Whatever you’re experiencing, you may be beginning to notice the impact of OCD in every facet of life:

  • Feeling unable to be in the present moment or feeling disconnected from others because of excessive time spent in negative thought loops

  • Being late for work, school or social engagements because of time spent repeatedly checking, reassuring self, vocalizing a word or phrase, counting, cleaning or performing a specific gesture

  • Isolating from friends and family in order to avoid needing to perform compulsions

OCD Therapy can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can spend less time worrying. You can trust yourself. You can feel calm again. And I can help you get there.

OCD therapy helps you do 4 things:

  1. Overcome your fears by facing them in a safe and controlled environment

  2. Eliminate the need to perform compulsions in order to feel relief

  3. Learn how to tolerate the uncertainty around your fears without engaging in compulsions.

  4. Live your life the way you want to - free from chronic overthinking

I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances.

My approach to OCD therapy comes from a place of empathy and understanding: believing that you are not “crazy” or “broken”, but that you’ve simply found yourself in a difficult cycle that just needs some care and attention.

You don’t have to live life feeling overwhelmed by worries

Frequently asked questions

  • During the first few sessions we will talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your history, and define your goals.

We will then explore your OCD, learning more about where it might come from and what it feels like. We’ll most likely use ERP (the leading OCD therapy) and mindfulness to help break the OCD cycle. I’ll support you in gradually and systematically facing your fears in a safe, controlled environment while having you resist the urge to practice compulsions.

  • The answer to this questions depends on the individual and their specific needs. Research suggests that most clients notice marked improvements after 12-20 sessions of ERP (the leading OCD therapy).

Some clients feel better enough that they choose to end therapy within this time. Others find that they enjoy the process of therapy and want to continue as their lives change and evolve.

My goal is to help you meet your goals at your pace. As long as therapy continues to be helpful, I’ll be here to support you.

  • Although I can’t provide absolute assurances, I can tell you I firmly believe in the potential for growth, healing, and transformation within therapy. I observe clients' lives evolve and improve every day.

Studies have consistently demonstrated that the bond between a client and therapist is the most important factor in determining positive therapy outcomes. This is why I offer a free consultation to ensure that I am a good fit for you and your needs.
